How Much Coffee Should You Use?
The answer to this question depends on how strong you like your coffee. If you like your coffee on the weaker side, start with a ratio of 1 part coffee to 8 parts water. For a stronger cup of coffee, use a ratio of 1 part coffee to 4 parts water.
Once you've decided on the strength of your brew, it's time to grind your beans. You'll want to use a coarse grind for cold brew coffee; if you grind your beans too fine, you'll end up with a muddy cup of joe.
Aim for a grind that's somewhere between sea salt and kosher salt in terms of coarseness.
Now that you have your beans ground and your desired ratio of coffee to water, it's time to brew!
To make cold brew coffee, simply combine your ground coffee and water in a pitcher or jar and stir until the grounds are fully saturated. Then, cover the pitcher or jar with a lid or plastic wrap and let it steep in the fridge overnight (or for at least 12 hours).
When brewing is complete, all that's left to do is strain out the grounds using a cheesecloth or coffee filter and enjoy!
